Quieter sections of the long beach
Best for couples, space and slower stays. Move away from the busiest central cluster and Borsh can feel extremely relaxed, even in summer compared with more famous Riviera resorts. This suits couples, readers, remote workers and travelers who want the beach itself to be the main activity. The trade-off is fewer walkable restaurants and a greater need for a car. Upper Borsh / village area
Best for local life, castle access and road trips. Upper Borsh puts you closer to the village environment, the road corridor and the climb toward Borsh Castle. It is not a practical beach base for travelers who want to swim multiple times per day, but it can be excellent for a short road-trip stay. Accommodation here may offer views, easier movement toward Qeparo and Himarë, and less summer beach congestion.
Nearby Qeparo as an alternative
Best for a more compact village-and-beach combination. If Borsh feels too spread out, Qeparo is the natural alternative. Lower Qeparo gives you a more compact seaside base, while Old Qeparo offers history and views. The beaches and atmosphere differ enough that I would choose between them rather than commuting repeatedly for dinner.
If you are driving
A car is very useful in Borsh because the beach is long and accommodation is spread out. The best beachfront stay, however, can actually reduce your driving if you choose restaurants and swimming within walking distance. Parking is usually easier than in Ksamil, but confirm it in peak season.
For road trips, I value confirmed parking more than the phrase “parking available.” Ask whether the space is private, reserved, on-site or simply public parking nearby. If the old town or village has narrow streets, ask for the exact final approach before following navigation blindly.
If you are traveling without a car
Without a car, choose central beachfront accommodation with restaurants nearby. Do not book a remote beach property simply because the price is low; taxis are less convenient than in large towns, and walking long distances on the coastal road is not always pleasant.
Without a car, I would pay a little more for a walkable location rather than save money on the room and spend the difference on repeated taxis. A central base also makes evenings easier because you can eat, walk and return without thinking about the last bus.

Borsh is one of the Riviera’s more family-friendly choices if you prioritize space and direct beach access. Apartments with kitchens and shade can be more useful than nightlife proximity.
How many nights to stay
Three nights works well for a beach-centered stay. Four or five nights makes sense if you want a slow holiday with one or two short excursions to Qeparo, Porto Palermo or Himarë.
I would add a night only when it creates a different kind of day: a full beach day, a mountain excursion, a village visit or enough time to enjoy the destination after day-trippers leave. Adding nights simply because accommodation is inexpensive can make a trip slower without making it richer.
Best season for booking
June and September are excellent. July and August are busier but still benefit from the length of the beach. Outside the main season, central Borsh is safer than an isolated beach section because services may reduce.
In peak season, location, parking and air-conditioning become more valuable. In low season, year-round restaurants, heating and road access matter more. I therefore do not use the same accommodation criteria for August and December.
